Why Zip a file?

Zipping is a way of putting a group of files together in one folder, and it also condenses your file sizes so that they transmit over the Internet quickly.

For zipping files and folders to upload, you may use the built-in zipping program available on your computer:

Win XP, Vista, Win 7
Right click folder to be zipped, select Send To > Compressed "zipped" folder.

Mac OSX 10.4 Tiger
At the Finder Bar, select File > Create Archive of.... to create a .zip file.

Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard
At the Finder Bar, select File > Compress to create a .zip file.

Special zipping or compression programs are also available by going to:

WinZip® for Windows

StuffIt® for Windows and Mac
